Flood Relief Resources - How to Help Helping Bridge Families in need: Jessica Wilkinson is a 2nd grade teacher at Sumas Elementary School and her classroom was flooded, all books and many materials destroyed. She has an Amazon wishlist here where you can purchase replacement books and have them shipped directly to her for rebuilding her library. The Keough family’s home has had extensive water damage and insurance will not be covering the rebuild. Read their story and donate here. Thank you to all who donated after the recent social media post. Samaritan’s Purse US Disaster Relief is currently serving in the area affected by the recent flooding in our community. They currently plan to serve in this area through Saturday, December 11. Volunteers may complete an application at www.spvolunteer.org. After completing an application, volunteers would need to arrive at Sonlight Community Church (8800 Bender Road, Lynden, WA 98264) at 7:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. for orientation on the chosen date. Volunteers will need to bring a bagged lunch, water, and hand sanitizer. If you have questions about serving as a day volunteer please contact the site at 360-305-2175. | ||||||||||||||||||
